The beginning

On April 2005 Hans Larsson visited Linosa for the first time thanks to the advice of Andrea Corso who on 1992 found there a cirtensis Long-legged Buzzard. His discoveries sent shockwaves through the Italian birding community: in little more than a week, he found and documented more rare birds than the average Italian birder sees in his lifetime!
Here is a list of his finds and some of his pictures:

·         African Desert Warbler, 23.04.2005 (2nd record for Italy)
·         Dusky Warbler singing in the garden of the house Hans rented, 15-23.04.2005 (3rd record for Italy)
·         Trumpeter Finch
·         Semi-collared Flycatcher
·         Eastern Woodchat Shrike (Lanius senator niloticus)
·         Many Pallid Harriers
·         Thousands of other more common (for Italy) species
